Harper is 1 | Nashville baby photographer

I marked two years of studio shooting back in January, and man, is it fun!  I love having the opportunity to work with more families year-round because of the space.  Harper’s 1 year old shoot was lots of fun– a happy little girl plus a cake smash is hard to beat!  This sweet girl LOVED her cake and dove straight into it.  I don’t know that I’ve ever had a baby who got into the cake that quickly.  It was hysterical!  Her creative mama also brought along some fun decorations that really made the session special.  I know you’ll love seeing these images.

2017 Valentine mini sessions | Nashville child photographer

Valentine mini sessions are now open!

Details:

Saturday, February 4, 2017

9:00-11:30 at the studio

  • There are two package options.  Both include digital images and a set/8 wallet prints.    You can share them with grandparents, teachers, friends, etc!   I’m going to be turning around these photos faster (my goal is within 5 days) so you can tell me your favorite image and I can order the wallets from my pro lab in time for Valentine delivery.
  • There are two different sets of props– more than a dozen Valentine’s themed photo booth style items (lips, mustaches, bowties, heart glasses, etc.) and large  conversation hearts– you/your child may choose a couple options for their session.  I’ve included examples below so you can see how cute they are!  My two little models LOVED getting to pick out silly props.

Ready to see the calendar and select your time slot?  Here’s the link:

Click on the calendar over to February 4, which is where you will see the specifics about the sessions and available time slots.  I currently plan to shoot from 9am-11:30.

The fine print…
Instead of doing two separate payments (nonrefundable retainer + remaining balance), I’m streamlining the process because the other way was a bit tricky to keep up with!  The full amount is due upfront to hold a time slot.  If you need to cancel your spot for some reason and you notify me in advance, the standard retainer amount ($50+tax) will be transferable to a future ECP session and the remaining balance will be refunded.

B family | Franklin family photographer

The majority of my clients have babies and young children, so when I get to work with elementary age kids, it is a treat!  For one, they know how to follow directions the first time.  Ha.  I can also get them to try some totally different poses.  This session took place at a Franklin favorite– Harlinsdale Park.  On weekends in the fall, it is CRAWLING with photographers due to the beautiful setting and fun variety of buildings and backdrops, so I tend to avoid it.  With young children, it can be hard to dodge lots of other groups.   During the week or other times of year, though, I love going over there.  Franklin is so lucky to have this jewel of a park.

Dressing your kids for success | Nashville family photographer

Repeat after me: It is fall.  It is usually cold in the fall.

Kids don’t like being cold.  Frankly, I don’t blame them because I don’t like to be cold either.  Moms, let’s set our kids up for success at your photo shoot.  There are lots of pieces to this (like telling them well ahead of time, not just after everyone jumps in the car on the way to see me).  One BIG piece that comes into play now is dressing for the weather.  It may be in the 50’s or 60’s, and we’ll be outside from 20-60 minutes, depending on your session time.  Please do NOT dress your child in a plain long sleeve t-shirt and assume he/she won’t be cold.  If it is windy or we are in the shade, they will get cold.  Just like getting ready for school, you need to dress everyone (yourself included) for the weather.  This is where accessories and fun outwear come in to play!  Try adding a jacket, vest, scarf, cardigan, tights, tall boots, etc for a little extra warmth.  Your kids (and I) will thank you!  An added bonus is that layering adds more texture and interest to the group, which is great!  I’ve shown some great ideas below.

Nashville Santa mini sessions 2016

We’re less than a month from the 2nd annual Elizabeth Clements Photography Santa minis!  Woohoo!  We have two great dates reserved– Friday, November 11 (Williamson County Schools are out, so it’s a great day to bring school-age kids) and Saturday, November 12.  Here are the details:

There will be 2 package options.

  • A nonrefundable retainer fee of $50+tax is due in order to hold your session and must be paid at the time of booking. (The remaining session balance will be paid the week of the session.)
  • I will send a separate email closer to time where you can choose your image package and pay the remaining balance.  Since it’s such a crazy day in the studio, I try to keep all payments online so nothing gets misplaced or forgotten.
  • If you have a half/full/newborn session with me between August-November 2016 and pay for a 3 image Santa package, I will automatically upgrade you to the 5+ image package as my treat!  This is a great deal (hello, free photos)!  Lots of families took advantage of this last year.

Santa minis last approximately 5 minutes and are only for children.  Your child will have a chance to talk to Santa, share a wish list or lovey, cuddle, etc.  No rushing in and out of his lap or long wait times like the mall!  Those of you who came last year RAVED about how kind my Santa is and how comfortable he is holding babies. He has a REAL beard and is a good sport about kids who want to test it out.  We always try to get smiles, but sometimes the tears happen (and honestly, some of those images are keepers because they are so funny).

Final edited images are chosen at the discretion of the photographer. They will be delivered within 10 days of the session via digital download.
