Georgia | Nashville, TN newborn photographer

Georgia’s parents had agreed on her name long before they were even expecting her.  Isn’t that sweet?  She was just a precious little thing and very cooperative for our session.  This is actually a couple more photos than I generally show for a newborn preview, but I had a really difficult time narrowing them down!  I hope you enjoy. 🙂

Little Miss Georgia just snoozed away for almost the entire session.  I did get a shot or two with her eyes open, so I had to share one here.  Her mama made the bracelet that she is wearing.

As I mentioned on Facebook, Georgia’s daddy requested a photo using his guitar case because he is a musician.  I love how it turned out!

Just the slightest hint of a smile.  Must have been a sweet dream. 🙂

Brand new family 🙂

Charlotte: 3 months | Nashville family photographer

I rounded out my busy morning yesterday was this baby girl’s session at her home in Nashville.  Just look at her sweet face and pretty eyes. 🙂

One thing I always enjoy about meeting a new baby is the discussion of who he/she looks like.  I find myself trying to match up certain features or expressions during our time together.  When I asked, Charlotte’s parents were quick to respond that she mostly takes after her daddy.  As our shoot progressed, however, I definitely thought I saw glimpses of her mama in there, too.  Love that.

Charlotte wasn’t freely handing out smiles yesterday, so I was thrilled to capture some sweet expressions like this.  While we’re talking about this photo, who doesn’t love those baby rolls??  Precious.

For being 3 months old, she had amazing head control!

I am a sucker for a tender mama/baby moment.  It makes me want to go snuggle one of my boys.  I imagine all mamas understand this urge.

Jax: 2 years | Franklin family photographer

You first saw this sweet boy last spring when I went to his first birthday party.  That was a great day!  I was thrilled to get to hang out with him yesterday and see how much he has grown.  Jax is now two, and with that comes a need to be active.  When his mom and I spoke a few weeks ago, we discussed how the purpose of this session was to capture Jax exactly as he is now– collecting rocks and leaves, playing, and smiling.  As a mom of two boys, I totally understand how they sometimes just need to MOVE.  It’s not always reasonable to ask a two year old to sit still for portrait after portrait, so setting up something a bit more informal can make the time really enjoyable for everyone involved.  We all smiled and laughed as he got excited about finding flowers (to give to his mom!) and as the three of them played together.  I think you’ll agree that we captured some wonderful moments of fun!

Jax brought along his favorite Sesame Street bucket to carry the leaves, rocks, sticks, grass, etc. that he collected.  So sweet.

No photo shoot at the park would be complete without a little swing reward!

Tucker: 6 months | Franklin family photographer

This sweet little fella was a great way to start my morning!  Though the sky was a bit ominous (see the clouds in the photos below), we stayed completely dry.  Rain actually didn’t even come until later in the afternoon.  The cloud cover and breeze were certainly welcome, as they made for happy families and a happy photographer today. 🙂

Tucker has a super sweet temperament and does all this things at this age that are so fun– sitting up, sticking everything in his mouth, wanting to explore while on his tummy, etc.  We had a great session!

Sidney | Nashville newborn photographer

Seems very appropriate to post a preview for a brand new mama on her first Mother’s Day!  This is sweet Sidney, a red-headed baby girl who was a dream to work with yesterday!  She really took minimal convincing to snooze the majority of the session, which of course made my job just that much easier. 🙂  I tried to narrow down this preview a bit, but I kept finding shots that I wanted to include so you guys could see some of the fun props we used AND because she had such a fun, colorful room!  I had several new wraps and things that I had picked up recently, so I definitely enjoyed playing with them.

Meet Sidney. 🙂

Look below, and I’m pretty sure you’ll see Miss Sidney with her own little smile!

Sidney’s mom attached these beautiful handmade doilies to painted canvases for custom artwork and interest.  I love this idea!

The multicolored blanket in the crate below was made by Sidney’s great grandmothers. I love getting to incorporate special family items!

Well hello there, blue eyed baby girl!
