Anderson family of 5 | Franklin, TN family photographer

I met this family yesterday afternoon at the park for a mini session.  I was just at this location last weekend for a couple shoots, and I was surprised to see the leafy spot I liked so much then had been mowed!  Nothing quite like a quick game changer!  It actually was totally fine because we chose another spot that had really beautiful trees, as you’ll see below.  I like having to think on my feet a bit like that because it keeps my mind active while shooting!

During our session one little guy turned into a superhero with the help of his special blankie.  The three boys also wrestled a bit for fun, which was the dad’s great idea after moods started going downhill.  The boys were all smiles after that!  I know their mom is not going to believe this first photo of all of them SMILING!  Isn’t it perfect?

Big brother didn’t want to be left out of the superhero action, so he borrow my quilt and started to run, too. 🙂

I first met this mama over 4 years ago when we were both pregnant with our first babies.  Of all funny places, we met in a prenatal water aerobics class!  Since then, it’s been fun to see their family grow, and I got to meet baby #2 when she was a newborn.  Yesterday, I enjoyed getting to see the girls as (almost) 2 and 4 year olds.  Little sister is known for her serious expressions, so I was warned that I might not get many smiles.  I think they’ll be pleased to see that not only did I get one or two smiles… I got tons!  Enjoy 🙂

I like way too many photos from this session.  I know, I know, that is a really good problem to have.  I seriously had a difficult time deciding which images to share in this preview because Miss Sidney is such a doll!  She did such a great job today at her session.  In one of the photos, you’ll see her sitting in a crate. 6 months ago, I did newborn shots of her in the same wooden crate.  She has grown so much since then!

In an effort to get previews from my sessions from today all posted, my writing is going to be short and sweet.  Speaking of sweetness, though, this family has it in droves!  They are so much fun to be around, and Tucker is such a happy little guy.  In our last session several months ago, he was full of serious expressions, which was unusual for him.  I was glad to get lots of smiles today!

One thing I really like about my job is getting to work with kids of all ages.  There is something wonderful and magical about a little newborn.  There’s a lot of fun with 4 year olds and 6 year olds (like this session) and everything in between.  These two boys were quick to jump right in and be ready to play and pose… and play and pose.  It was great!  I particularly enjoyed getting to see how brothers interact when they’re a bit older than my boys are now.  My Matthew (4 year old) is so ready for Andrew (1 year old) to be able to play and run.  I know my husband is looking forward to that day, too!

Just a reminder– I don’t show any family photos this time of year in case they want to use one for Christmas cards. 🙂
