Brown family: gender reveal | Franklin TN baby photographer

There is much I could write about this family. You probably recognize them from my posts, like this one or this one. The past year has been unbearably difficult for them, so it is with great JOY that I can share this preview with you. You see, they are expecting again! The kids didn’t know the baby’s gender yet, so we set up a series of fun reveals for them tonight.

Blake: 2 years | Franklin TN child photographer

Blake’s mama and I met a year or more ago as part of a mommy fitness program. It was nice to get to meet her husband and hang out with the three of them in a different setting! They met me at one of my favorite spots in Franklin to take some photos because Blake turned 2 earlier this week. Speaking of the birthday boy– he was such a ham! You guys will love all of his expressions and poses below.  SO cute.  He was also completely obsessed with my red chair.  In fact, he wanted to do just about all of his photos with that chair.  The wooden #2 was specially painted red for this session.  I also have a #1 and a #3 (both currently unpainted, but I’m open to painting them) in case anyone else would like to incorporate those in a photo shoot with me sometime.

We met at 9:00 this morning and it definitely felt like summer! Whew.  For the next couple months, I’ll be scheduling morning sessions a little earlier for all of our sakes.

This family lives in Nashville, so I recommended that they check out the Franklin Farmer’s Market after our shoot since it is just across the street.  It is one of my happy places!  I love the sense of community, and I might be the #1 repeat customer (or at least in the top 5) of Ellie’s Old Fashioned Doughnuts.  I have been known to go to the market in the winter just to get one of their original cinnamon sugar doughnuts.  Blake’s family did go by, and his mama told me that he picked to eat a cucumber instead of a doughnut.  Isn’t that hilarious?

Dolezal family | Nashville family photographer

I met this family of 5 yesterday morning at Percy Warner Park. While I’ve shot there before, I don’t get over that way quite as often since it’s a bit further away from where I am (in Franklin). It is always an option for full sessions, though– in fact, I’m already scheduled for another family’s session there in early August. That park is so beautiful, and there are so many fun places to play. Kids, of course, LOVE the stone steps. Those steps can be handy for working out a little extra energy if necessary. 🙂

The Dolezals were referred to me by my photographer friend, Danielle Bennett, who moved with her family to DC last year. Since she obviously isn’t taking Nashville clients anymore, she has been kind enough to give many of them my name. If you know any friends in the DC area who might need a child or family photographer, definitely check her out! Here is her website: Danielle Bennett Photography.

On to the Dolezals– they were a sweet family of 5.  Mama told me that we really needed to make sure to get some individuals of her littlest guy since, as you all know, the camera doesn’t always come out quite as often for the third child (or even the second child).  Trust me, I hear that a lot from families!  This first image is just one of many smiles I captured. Mission accomplished.

New product offering: birth announcements | Nashville newborn photographer

Hey guys!

I am SO excited about this news.  All of my newborn clients now receive 25 gorgeous birth announcements as a GIFT from me!  This includes both those who schedule as a Baby’s First Year Plan or as just a newborn session.  I have scoured my favorite designers and have selected some amazing designs that I can’t wait to use to showcase your precious little one.  Birth announcements are printed through a professional lab, so you know the color and quality are top-notch.  If you think that you’ll need more than 25 announcements, you can certainly purchase extras.  Baby Harper was my first newborn to receive this new gift, so (with her parents’ permission) I want to show you how AMAZING they look.  Interested in scheduling a newborn session?  Click on the “Get in Touch” tab above!

Strawberry picking | {personal post}

I’ll be honest– I am not good about getting my “big camera” out at home a lot. When Matthew was our only child, I obsessively photographed him. That’s another story, though, and is tied into the fact that my husband was deployed at the time. This year, though, I’ve been relying heavily on my phone camera to document little moments. I used to lug my Canon around all the time, but it just got a bit too tricky to deal with it and juggle both boys. This morning, however, I knew that I had to take it. Boy, am I ever glad that I did. It was so refreshing and a bit inspiring to be in a new location with my loves. We met some friends at a local strawberry farm and picked to our hearts’ content. Memories were made, and I plan for us to go back before this season is over (June) and also in future years.
