I met this fun family of four yesterday in Franklin at Harlinsdale, one of my most requested spots.  After a week or more of rain, we lucked out with overcast skies and no sprinkles.  This family is military (which I have major respect for, since we are also military) and they are just entirely too cute, so they are getting an extra large preview!  I especially love how excited big sister, Claire, got about throwing leaves in the air!

These kiddos are no strangers to the ECP blog.   They came to see me last fall, and we also had a shoot the year prior when little sister turned 1.  We met yesterday at Harlinsdale Farm/Park in Franklin, which is always one of my top-requested locations.  As we were wrapping up our session, I spied a large collection of pretty leaves on the grass.  We lined the kids up and then let them start throwing handfuls.  They loved it, as you’ll see below!

Louisa’s mama emailed me about a week and a half ago inquiring about a newborn session because there were issues with one that they had just had done.  Listening to this disappointed mama put her on my heart, and I knew I had to find a way to squeeze her into my schedule and help her out.  On a lucky chance, my husband had yesterday off from work due to the holiday, and so off I went to Louisa’s gorgeous Nashville home.

Baby girl really didn’t have much interest in sleeping.  She stirred easily once we thought she was out.  Sometimes that happens, and it is totally ok.  We worked hard during the pockets of sleep that we got, though, and I’m really pleased with these images.  I know her mama will be, too!  I love the pale pink wrap with her gorgeous coloring in particular.

I’ve photographed this family a couple times in the past year and a half for big sister, Charlotte, but this session was mainly for baby Matthew.  He wasn’t terribly thrilled with the whole thing, but we definitely still have some great images.  It was pretty funny– every time we put him on his tummy, he would almost immediately begin to lean to roll over.  I had to be really fast. 🙂

Photographing large family groups is something that I don’t do very often. On Saturday, though, I met with a family of 10 in Franklin. So much fun. We had a set of grandparents, their two children, and those children’s spouses and their own children. Though it was a seriously windy day, it was still gorgeous outside. We ended up with a really fun variety of images since we had so many people– I got the twins to tickle each other, kids snuggling with parents, grandparents alone, girls only, etc.  Maybe I’ll come back and post whole group/whole family shots after Christmas because I really love how they turned out!
