The Baileys | Franklin Tn family photographer

*Just a reminder that I don’t show posed whole-family photos between now and Christmas because I know many plan to use those for gifts or Christmas cards.*

I enjoyed meeting these two girls and their mom on Saturday. It was a fun change of pace to work with teenagers, which is a fairly rare occurrence for me. As you’ll see, these girls are gorgeous! For our last photos, they asked to wrap up in my quilt together, which looks so cute.

One thing they did (that I think is easy to forget in the hubbub of prepping for a shoot) is to be really intentional about your makeup. These girls looked really polished and ready to go, which photographs so well. The way I think of it is to take your regular look up a notch. If you don’t normally wear eyeliner, maybe try lining your top lashes. If you normally just wear gloss, try doing a lipstick with a little color under that gloss. You want to look like yourself, of course. Those little extra steps do make a difference in photos, though. When my family had photos done back in April, I actually decided to get a blow-out (my first!) and my makeup done that day. Knowing that those details were taken care of definitely removed some stress for me. I’d highly recommend my clients consider this!

William: brand new | Nashville TN newborn photographer

Friends, I am so excited to introduce you to this little guy, William! He was born on Monday at 6:59pm and weighed 7 lbs, 6 oz. It’s hard to know where to start with his introduction, but I will say that this little guy has been eagerly anticipated. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the heartbreaking pain this family went through 17 months ago (to the day, on Monday the 10th). Once the Browns’ family and friends learned that baby William was on the way, we started praying nonstop for a healthy baby. For a healthy mama. For a smooth delivery. For no complications. All of those are things that I have come to realize that I very much took for granted with my own pregnancies. I think that mamas who have experienced some heartache on the way to motherhood (whether through infertility, loss, or some other reason) realize just a bit more than the rest of us (or at least more than I did) just how very precious and fragile pregnancy and childbirth are. It took me walking alongside my friends during it to really understand. I’ll leave it at that here, but feel free to read my post about what they went through. The blanket in the last photo was Margaret’s.

Back to William– this was my first time to photograph a baby who had been born just minutes prior, not days prior. It was amazing! I stepped out during the delivery so the family could enjoy the intimacy of that moment together (per their preference), but came in not long afterward. I can’t wait for you to see these, so without further ado, here is William’s public debut.

Fifth preview of the day! I’m excited to share images of these gorgeous girls with you all. Don’t they have the dreamiest hair? I loved it! I’m a boy mom, so I don’t get to curl and style little girl hair, which definitely seems fun.  They met me at Harlinsdale Farm/Park in Franklin, and we had a wonderful session.  I had a really hard time narrowing down to these!

I’m keeping my comments short and sweet today because I’ve got a big list of previews and sessions to knock out. This is my third preview to get posted today, so that’s pretty good, right? My husband used to work with James, the dad in this session, years ago. It’s actually pretty amazing to think about all of the different ways my clients have found me– through friends, through my husband, through former co-workers, through my Bible study, through Facebook, through church, etc. I love it!  I have the best clients!

I’m keeping my comments short and sweet today because I’ve got a big list of previews and sessions to knock out. It had been a couple years since I had seen this family, so it was fun to catch up and see how big the boys had gotten. They met me at one of my favorite spots in Franklin, which currently has the BEST fall leaves, as you’ll see below!  They definitely wanted to get a leaves throwing picture like I’ve been featuring a lot recently. 🙂
