Sidney is 2! | Nashville family photographer

Confession time: I’m kind of obsessed with Sidney’s coloring.  May as well tell you that my main kindergarten crush was an auburn-headed boy named Dustin.  I always hoped that I’d end up with red-headed babies somehow. That clearly hasn’t happened, so I’m just going to have to enjoy it when my clients have beautiful red hair.  Case in point: Sidney + the tall grass and clover = DREAMY.  I couldn’t even tell you what my favorite photo from her shoot is because I frankly don’t have one.  I’ve been photographing this sweet girl since she was a newborn, and I always have fun with her family. She is a brand new 2 year old who enjoyed exploring and playing the park, especially the infamous stone steps.

Parker: 6 months | Nashville baby photographer

Last time Parker saw me, he was not exactly a fan.  In fact, we had a good giggle over his little pout at his Valentine’s Day mini session.  Remember this sweet face?

Cropp vday 900 webWhen he came to see me last week, though, he was a completely different baby.  Parker was full of smiles– and man, oh man, his baby blues were sparkling!  His session was amazingly smooth because he was such a happy little guy.  Of course, it helped that he had an extra long nap and a bottle before coming over to the studio.  That was good thinking on his mama’s part, for sure.  I had set up the bed, which was lots of fun, as you can see in the first few images below.  Interested in using it at your child’s session?  Just mention it to me prior to our shoot!

Rodgers family | Nashville family photographer

I don’t know a whole lot about genetics, but the odds of a brown haired, brown eyed mama having FOUR babies with blond hair and blue eyes is just plain crazy. Aren’t they all so cute?  This crew of 6 was a lot of fun last night! We were busy for the whole hour for our full session, as you can imagine. There was a lot of silliness and running around, and I am thrilled to show you some of the results! We have some really awesome images. Speaking of odds, how often can you get six people looking in the same direction for a photo? It’s a lot harder than you think, but neither of the whole family images I’m sharing here had any serious Photoshopping (ie. no head-swapping). That is a major win in my book!

Dane | Nashville newborn photographer

It turns out that it’s a small world after all. I apologize if the song is now stuck in your head! It’s always funny to learn how my clients know each other or friends of mine. Case in point, I learned the day before Dane’s shoot that his aunt is part of my small Bible study group. A safe and smooth delivery for him had actually been on our prayer request list for weeks before he arrived. I had been praying for this little guy due to his aunt (my friend)’s request, not knowing that he actually would be a client of mine this year! You’ll get to see him again in 6 months, as he is one of my newest ECP Baby Plan babies.

Lucy: 6 months | Nashville baby photographer

This sweet girl came to see me for her 6 month session the other day, and she was perfect! She had just recently started to sit up briefly in the days leading up to our session, and she set a personal record while we were together! Her grandmother had come along to help out, and Lucy just sat up perfectly and watched her for several long stretches. We all were so excited! Lucy is just the happiest baby. I was in the church service a couple weeks ago when she was baptized, and Lucy did not make a peep the whole service. Many parents opt to take their baby out after that part of the service just in case, but Lucy was quite content to stay in her spot on the front row. It’s going to be so fun to see how her personality develops as she gets older.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that Lucy’s mama MADE the bonnet that Lucy is wearing in several photos below. She is so creative!
