Douglas family | Nashville family photographer

We were worried about rain over the weekend, so we bumped up this family’s session to Friday.  That was a great choice because we ended up with a beautiful late afternoon to work with.  Fall leaves, sunshine playing peek-a-boo with the clouds, and happy kids are hard to beat!

Saving whole family shots for the family’s eyes only this time of year. 🙂

Corder family | Franklin child photographer

This family braved 43 degrees with me yesterday morning.  Whew, it was chilly.  They were champs, though!  Not a single complaint.  I was reminded that I need to look for my fingerless gloves because those make a huge difference shooting in cold temperatures.  I don’t post whole-family photos this time of year, so I’ll leave you with these to enjoy.  One of my favorites is actually the second photo because it was when Owen decided to move the stool to a location of his own choosing.  Kids are hilarious.

Hall family + dogs | Franklin family photographer

This family already met me a couple months ago for their annual session, but they wanted to do a separate half session that could feature their beloved Vizslas. During my first year of business, I photographed their old dogs, also Vizslas, who have since passed away. They still have those dogs’ portraits hanging, though, and wanted to add some images of their new dogs in their home. The day we met, Sunday, was actually the one year anniversary of when they picked up Chase and Joanie. Their mama regularly posts on Facebook and Instagram about the dogs’ antics– especially Joanie’s behavior. Those chose her for her spunky personality as a puppy, which has turned into a nickname of The Evil Queen for all of the mischief she gets into. It’s pretty comical (at least from this side of it! Ha!) They are beautiful dogs, and I know they are thankful for one another.

We had a little bit of a sprinkly mist on Sunday in Franklin, but it ended up not being a problem at all! I’m excited to show you our images. I wish I could show you the whole family photo, but I always save those this time of year in case they intend to use them for Christmas cards. Maybe I’ll post it after Christmas!

Lucy is 1 | Nashville baby studio photographer

I’ve been photographing this sweet baby girl in the studio at all of her milestones since she was 3 months old, and it has been so fun to get to see her grow and change.  Considering I see her at church, too, she recognizes me, which makes our sessions even more fun.  She celebrated her birthday with a party over the weekend, and her mama thought to bring in some flowers from the table decorations.  I handed a Gerbera Daisy to Lucy, and she loved it!  Of course, she tried to put the stem in her mouth at first, but she was definitely entertained by it.  We got some really cute whole family photos, but I’m not posting them just in case they want to use them for Christmas.  Saving the best for last, though– we did a cake smash.  Oh boy, Lucy definitely loved it!  She was a pro and dove right in.  It didn’t hurt, of course, that her mama and grandmother had made her delicious cake.  Notice the gray dress in the first two photos?  Lucy’s mama made it.  You can’t even see all of the adorable detail from this angle.  I’m kind of obsessed with it.

Guerrero family | Nashville family photographer

This crew was my first shoot of the day on Saturday, and we met at my Nashville studio.  You may have see a sneak peek of them on Facebook; they brought along some favorite things to their session.  Little sister had her giraffe lovey, and big brother had his two favorite trains.  This is a great way to personalize your shoot!

Just a reminder– I don’t post any whole-family photos this time of year on Facebook or my blog because I know they are likely going to be used for Christmas cards or gifts. 🙂
