Carter and his parents came to my Nashville studio a few weeks ago for his newborn session. He spoiled me by sleeping the ENTIRE time. We finished in a cool 2 hours, which is faster than usual! It wasn’t technically cool since I keep the studio around 78-80 degrees during newborn sessions, but you know what I mean. I loved Carter’s session– due to his heavy sleep, I was able to really play and do so many different poses and wraps within our time together. We were able to personalize his session by including his daddy’s UT jersey from his time playing (on the 1998 national championship team, no less). His sweet parents were so engaged and excited about the process. I loved getting to document their precious little guy with them while he is so small and squishy. I’m going to overshare a bit because I’m obsessed with this session! Once you start scrolling through the images and see the cuteness, I don’t think you’ll mind.

Back to School minis 2016 | Nashville child photographer

It is time for my second annual Back-to-School mini sessions! I’ve reserved Saturday, August 13 from 12-2:30 at my Nashville studio and will have lots of cute props (including this great old desk!) Bring your preschooler or elementary-aged child to document them as they enter a new class. I’m offering two different packages– 3 images ($85) or 5 images ($125). One of your images will be personalized with their name, age, grade, and some of his/her favorite things. It would be perfect for framing! I’m setting up a new email list as I’m starting to make some plans for fall sessions and Santa minis and such. If you’d like to be in the know, click on the cute envelope symbol above to be added. I promise not to spam you with tons of random stuff. You should only hear from me if there’s an upcoming mini, contest, special promotion, or for first dibs on my fall session sign-ups! This also makes sure that you don’t miss one of those things if I happen to post about it on Facebook. I heard from some people that were disappointed because they never really knew my last contest was going on because I kept it on Facebook and wasn’t emailing out. My fault! Facebook can be great for small businesses, but it also doesn’t show all posts to fans, so it’s a bit tricky. This is one of the ways I can combat that (plus give you an exclusive)!

This session was the first of two maternity sessions I did at this field in the span of one week, and I really think the natural element and lack of other distractions really adds to the images. As you’ll see, this mama was absolutely glowing! This family is always a lot of fun and is really engaged in the process. They didn’t find out what they are having, so it will be a surprise! Since they already have two boys, though, they’re pretty convinced that they will end up with a third. You never know, though!

When I met this family for their session in early April, we decided to try a new-to-me location. Since then, I have really enjoyed taking families to this field because it has so much beautiful texture with the grasses and trees. I’ve done two maternity sessions over there and LOVED how they turned out. I’ll have to blog those as well. If there at sunset, you can usually catch that beautiful golden light peeking through the trees. This session was in April when the trees hadn’t fully filled in, so the sun was really shining.
